Weekly Half-Hour MMA Show Hosted by UFC Fighter Nate “Rock” Quarry
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Comcast SportsNet California , the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” today announced the launch of American Cagefighter, a weekly half-hour magazine show dedicated to the events, fighters, teams and latest news in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA). Premiering Sunday, January 9 at 10:00 p.m. PT, American Cagefighter is hosted by Nate “Rock” Quarry, current UFC fighter and one of the contestants in the first season of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show. Quarry will be joined by co-host and popular MMA personality Tamara “Miss Rara” Suguitan.
Each week American Cagefighter will present viewers with comprehensive MMA news and analysis, insider reports, exclusive behind-the-scenes video, and interviews from the biggest names in MMA. Making appearances in the first several episodes are fighters Urijah Faber, Jake Shields, Tito Ortiz, Chris Leben, Mark Munoz, Chad Mendes, and Joseph Benavidez, among others. American Cagefighter is also dedicated to promoting and giving exposure to the rising stars in the sport and will feature fight action from regional MMA events.
In addition, American Cagefighter gives fans a rare, all-access look at the lives of today’s MMA stars and will be on location at the industry’s biggest events, including the UFC’s USO Tour, with exclusive Flip Video Cam footage from Nate Quarry; the World MMA Awards 2010 in Las Vegas from The Pearl at The Palms Casino Resort; the world premiere of “The Striking Truth” featuring Georges St-Pierre and David Loiseau, with red carpet interviews; and UFC 125 in Las Vegas, including special behind-the-scenes access there with Chris Leben.
